Education Olympics website

The Thomas B. Fordham Institute hired me to create a website for the “Education Olympics,” which coincided with the 2008 Olympics.

The goal of the Education Olympics was to contrast the academic performance of American students with those of the rest of the world. The competitions took place over the span of the actual Olympic games, and the results were posted daily along with video commentary.

The ExpressionEngine content management system was used to speed up development time and to give us design and publishing flexibility.

Elements of the design were adjusted as the games progressed. In some cases, the entries were published in advance, and appeared as the actual date caught up.

The project had a two month timeline, and it came in on time and under budget. There’s nothing like a hard deadline to focus one’s efforts.
